Roller garage doors

Made of aluminium, with slats filled with polyurethane foam. Below: how to read the dimensions in the product name, how to work out the clear passage opening, and the full specifications of the two slat families.

How to read the dimensions

The dimensions listed on the site are WWWW × HHHH, where WWWW = the width, and HHHH = the height.

These are the manufacturing dimensions of the garage doors and they include the guide rails in the width and the box in the height.

The clear passage opening is obtained by subtracting from the manufacturing dimensions:

  • Roller doors 55 mmWWWW − 150 mm and HHHH − 300 mm
  • Roller doors 77 mmWWWW − 180 mm and HHHH − 377 mm

Where the manufacturer states the passage opening explicitly, it is shown on the product page.

Why a roller door

The garage door is a very important part of well-made outdoor surroundings, and the range of colours lets you brighten the look of your house. Known for their reliability and security, roller doors are the ideal choice for fitting out your garage.

Made of aluminium, the domestic horizontal roller garage door insulates against heat and noise, its slats being filled with polyurethane foam. These doors can be used in many settings, from the ordinary role of a garage door to that of a door for a commercial space or an industrial hall.

Because of the way it opens and closes, the garage door takes up very little space and access is improved. The advantage of roller doors over sectional ones is that all the slats roll up into a box that needs and occupies far less room.

In construction, roller garage doors are larger external roller shutters whose slats are filled with polyurethane foam for thermal insulation and strength. Depending on the size of the door, or on the strength and insulation the project calls for, the slats measure 55 or 77 mm.
